Situato circa 3,5 Km a nord di Sperlonga,questo piccolo lago,conosciuto anche col nome di S.Potito che deriverebbe da quello di un monastero che lo possedette nel XII secolo e’ uno dei pochi laghi d’acqua dolce della provincia di Latina. Dalla forma tozza,vagamente circolare,non e’ molto grande,misura infatti appena 0,3 Kmq e ha un perimetro di soli 2,4 Km. In compenso ha la prerogativa di essere,seppur di poco, il piu’ profondo raggiungendo i 32 metri contro i circa 30 di Fondi. La sua origine e’ probabilmente quella vulcanica,anche se le sue basse rive ricoperte di canneti non autorizzino piu’ di tanto questa ipotesi.

La meta elettiva e’ senz?altro Sperlonga , ma e’ consigliata anche una visita a Gaeta.
Come arrivarci
Da Roma seguire la SS7 Appia fino a Terracina e poi proseguire per la SS213 in direzione Sperlonga e Gaeta , il lago apparira’ sulla sinistra preceduto da un ristorante-dancing.
